What is E-E-A-T and does it affect rankings?

E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. It's the framework Google's human quality raters use to judge content, and while it isn't a direct score in the algorithm, Google builds signals that approximate it. It matters most for topics that affect health, money, or safety.

In practice, showing E-E-A-T means real author credentials, first-hand experience with what you're writing about, citations to reliable sources, accurate and current information, and a site that's clearly a real organization with contact details and a track record.

You can't fake it with keywords. The sites that do well on E-E-A-T are the ones actually written by people who know the subject, which is exactly what Google is trying to reward.
