Does structured data help with AI search?

Structured data (schema markup) helps by labeling your content clearly (this is an FAQ, this is the answer, this is a product) which makes it easier for search and AI systems to understand and use. It's not a magic ranking boost, but it removes ambiguity about what your content means.

For AI answers specifically, the bigger levers are clear writing, direct answers, and factual density. Schema supports those by making structure explicit, which can improve how confidently a machine extracts your content, especially for FAQs, how-tos, and products.

The rule that always applies: mark up only what's actually on the page. Accurate structured data that matches visible content helps every surface; misleading markup can get you ignored or penalized. Treat it as clarity, not a trick.
