Structured content vs a page builder

A page builder stores a finished layout. Structured content stores the facts and decides the layout when the page is rendered. The difference only appears when you want that content somewhere else: a listing, an email, an app, or a rich search result, none of which a stored layout can supply.

Builders win on the first page and lose on the hundredth. Editing is visual and immediate, and every page quietly becomes its own bespoke thing, so a design change means opening all of them one at a time.

Structured content costs more to set up and pays back every time content is reused or redesigned. If your site is five pages that rarely change, a builder is the honest answer. If it is fifty pages a team edits weekly, it is not.
