The goal isn't a half-built product. It's a focused one: pick the single most important thing your app must do, build that well, and launch. Real users then show you what to build next, which is almost never exactly what you planned.
Starting with an MVP controls risk. Most product ideas are wrong in some way, and it's far cheaper to learn that from a lean first version than from a large, fully built one. Ambitious products still get built, just in validated steps rather than one big bet.
