Tool sprawl is a real cost: every added tool needs setup, learning, maintenance, and integration, and too many fragment where information lives. A lean, well-integrated set beats a large collection that nobody fully uses.
The healthy pattern is to start minimal and add deliberately. When the team repeatedly hits the same pain (say, tracking work or monitoring errors), adopt one good tool to solve it. Choosing tools by fashion rather than need is how stacks become bloated.
